Community Involvement...continued...
Public Information SessionsPublic information sessions can be arranged to display information about public concerns raised in surveys and allow discussion with the public of these concerns as well as alternatives for the proposed project. The appropriate use of graphics and text, well displayed with knowledgable staff available to discuss issues and solutions, is key to the successful presentation of projects to the public. Collection of public input using questionnaires and comment forms aids in documenting this input for presentation to Clients and Municipal Councils. Community Steering CommitteesWe have worked effectively with community based project steering committees. These can be extremely valuable in focusing community interests and fostering wide understanding of both concerns and realistic solutions.Participation with such groups permits effective communication between the community, the project proponent and the Consultant and can persuade individual members of the public that their issues are being addressed. |
