Community InvolvementCommunity involvement is key to the success of many transportation projects. Today, neighbours of projects and others within the local community often become involved in the design and approval processes.Timing of Public InputIdentifying community concerns, and allowing effective public involvement, at a stage where input is meaningful is a much more constructive way of dealing with these issues.
Development projects are often perceived as producing more traffic on adjacent streets, as well as creating potential parking and safety problems. Dealing with such issues with the neighbours early on in the planning process can build confidence that the Client is aware of all the issues and willing to pay heed to them.

Build Community SupportIn dealing with road improvement projects, or area traffic management projects, we have to assure the community that their interests are recognized, understood and where appropriate, acted upon. Without support within the community, such projects will generate opposition that may be sufficient to postpone or cancel them, or can affect community relations even after construction which would be detrimental to both the neighbourhood and the larger community.SurveysTo address these issues we undertake surveys and public information sessions on behalf of our clients. Surveys can be carried out in a number of ways including telephone, door to door, or distribution of information fliers with prepaid reply cards. Results can be compiled identifying issues, perceived solutions, and demographic data relating to travel patterns. We prefer to use non-leading questions and allow open ended responses to reduce bias and allow for more realistic input.
